Anne-Marie Gardette

A native of France, Anne-Marie Gardette has danced and taught for many years with the Parisian company Ris et Danceries. She has taken part in major productions with the Baroque ensemble Les Arts Florissants under the direction of William Christie (Atys, Médée, and Les Indes galantes). Arriving in Montreal, she founded the company Danse Cadence with dancer Pierre Chartrand, and has devoted herself to researching the dances and contradances of New France. She teaches regularly at the Centre des musiciens du monde and the École des Arts de la Veillée, and is a visiting professor at the École supérieure de ballet du Québec (ESBQ).
