Marie Magistry is one of the most active young sopranos on the Québec early music scene. She sings regularly with various ensembles including the Studio de musique ancienne de Montréal, Les Violons du Roy, The Theatre of Early Music, Ensemble Caprice and Les idées heureuses.
Marie has performed in numerous Canadian festivals, including Montréal Baroque, where she has performed with renowned artists such as Daniel Taylor, James Bowman and Charles Daniels. Recently, she worked with lutenist, Stephen Stubbs in Seattle in operas by Stefano Landi and Francesco Cavalli.
Heard regularly on CBC radio and Radio-Canada, Marie Magistry has recorded several discs on the Atma label as a soloist with the Studio de musique ancienne de Montréal. She has also recorded with the ensemble Viva Voce on the Naxos label.
Marie Magistry holds a Master’s degree in early music performance from McGill University.
